Holistic Lifestyle Coaching

What is Holistic Lifestyle Coaching?
There is a huge amount of information about health and diet available today, yet with so much misinformation and conflicting advice it can be difficult to work out what advice to follow. This problem occurs because we are all unique beings, with individual needs. The “one size fits all” approach to health simply does not work.
HLC was developed by Paul Chek, a prominent expert in the field of holistic health and corrective exercise in the US. Paul firmly believes in treating the body as a whole and seeing us humans as dependant and inseparable from Mother Nature.
The HLC system is the distillation of Paul’s detailed research and successful treatment of countless clients over the course of over twenty five years.
Although advice on diet is given from a metabolic typing perspective, this is not a nutritional consultation, instead we look at health from a broader perspective of the six foundations of health.

The foundations of health
Holistic lifestyle coaching looks at your health from a broad perspective, once the foundations of positive thinking, good breathing, sound diet, good hydration, appropriate excercise and healthy sleep patterns are established then you have the best chance of being and staying in good health. Clients find that once they understand how to get the basics right, then other therapies such as homeopathy, herbal medicine, energy therapies and the like are much more effective and fast acting.

About the Sessions
Before your first session you will be sent a number of questionnaires by post or email. Then we will meet to look at any issues which may get in the way of you moving towards a healthier lifestyle and how they can be addressed. Everyone one will have a unique session, specific to their individual needs, some people may need more advice on diet than others, some may need more advice on the other foundational principles: Positive Thinking, Breathing, Hydration, Exercise and Sleep.

At the end of the first session you will recieve a folder with information and resources to help you support your own health, naturally and holistically. This will include clear guidelines on eating to support your individual metabolic needs. I won’t give you a diet plan, I never recommend calorie counting or suppressing the urge to eat. Instead you will be given the tools to make informed choices about the best foods for you to eat and in what proportions. This way of eating has the effect of reducing cravings and eliminating many of the problems associated with dieting and eating junk foods. Most people experience increased energy, and an improvement in mood and mental function.

The second session consists of a review of the first session, so that you can ask any questions you need to and feedback on how you are getting on. There are some finer points about eating for your metabolic type that we can discuss and clarify. We will then look in more detail at any difficulties you may have with embracing poitive change, overcoming these blocks with deeper work using yoga, relaxation and positive thinking.

You will be given clear practice notes, which will be emailed or sent to you by post, these can be added to your folder so you have a reference to keep forever.
If you find you need a top up session, we can meet in person or have a phone session to help your to get back on track.
