Medical Acupuncture

Medical acupuncture is recognised by the British Medical Acupuncture Society as it can be understood in scientific terms. Scientific research has proven that there are distinct changes in the brain during MRI scans when an acupuncture needle has been inserted. Also a natural occurring chemical in the body called adenosine is produced which is a painkiller and anti-inflammatory. Needling "trigger points" in the body can help relive pain such as arthritis, sciatic, frozen shoulder and migraine. We are also trained to combine this with traditional chinese acupuncture.

Jeanette Thomson practices Medical Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Osteopathy and Naturopathy at the Haelan Clinic on Mondays from 9am - 8pm and Tuesdays from 12:30pm - 8pm.
