Julia Moore

julia portraitI began my study of yoga as a teenager in 1988. Since this time, this practice has been a huge support in life. Without even noticing it I became more well aligned (my feet no longer turned out as I walked); calmer (I used to struggle with chronic stress and anxiety) and more grounded and present.
After years of searching for a teacher, I came across Jenny Beeken and the Inner Yoga Trust, with whom I completed my Teacher's Foundation and Teacher's Awareness Certificate. I am also certified by the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY). More recently I have completed the Foundation Course and two Intermediate Level Courses in Yoga Therapy, with the Yoga Biomedical Trust and I continue to study and be fascinated by how yoga can help us to heal ouselves on many levels. Recently I completed a teacher training in "Teach Meditation" with Swami Saradananda. I also study regularly with Sophy Hoare, who trained with Vanda Scaravelli.
My teaching draws on the wonderful rich resource of these teachers and and ongoing professional study which informs my own daily practice of yoga in its various forms. I also have a deep interest in complementary health, I like to bring the insights gained from my extensive personal study of natural health into my teaching, to provide a truly holistic experience of yoga.

mel protrait“Yoga came into my life during a difficult period following the birth of my second child.  This initial experience of yoga was felt as a terrific relief both to my mind and my body, and gave me a profound sense of coming home to myself.  During ten years as a student and teacher, I've personally experienced - and been privileged to witness - the powerful, yet subtle changes that yoga can bring to its practitioners of all ages and abilities. For me teaching yoga is a dynamic, ever evolving, process. I am constantly learning from my students, my peers and from many diverse and gifted practitioners . Rosie Dores

rosie portraitI have been practising Yoga and meditation for 14 years and am currently studying for an MA in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
Practising Yoga and meditation has helped me to approach my life with greater calm and ease. Taking the time to listen to myself, to nourish my body and mind, has resulted in a greater sense of general well being. I am more able to keep life's changes and challenges in perspective and to take more response – ability for how I respond/react to life events.
I teach yoga with an emphasis on mindful attention, bringing awareness to the breath and also to the feelings, thoughts, emotions that arise within the practice. Asana  (postures), Pranayama (breathing) and Meditation (stilling the mind) give one the tools to learn about one self and to develop greater self-knowledge and understanding.
I continue to benefit greatly from my practices of Yoga and meditation and hope to be able to share both the benefits and continued learning with others.

Rosie teaches at the Haelan Studio on
Wednesday from 9:30am - 11:00am
