Reflexology by Hagar Basis

Origins of Reflexology
Based on the same principles as Chinese acupuncture, pressure point massage of the feet was used in China over 5,000 years ago, as well as by the Ancient Egyptians, Hopi tribes of North American and 15th century European medical practitioners. The Rwo Shur health method that Daphne Roubini employs originates from the International Research Institute in Taiwan where discoveries of Eastern and Western medicine are combined.

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is based on the theory that every organ, area and system of the body is mirrored by a reflex point in the feet. By massaging these points the reflexologist can observe and facilitate a clearing of any blockages in the corresponding areas of the body. This therapy can be surprisingly accurate in general observation and effective in treatment.

How can it help me?
Treating the body in a 'whole-istic' way, reflexology is a natural, drug-free approach to relaxing the body-mind. It balances the circulatory, excretory, digestive, endocrine and immune systems, helping the body to rid itself of toxins and promote healing, as well as effectively releasing muscular tension. Due to its holistic approach, reflexology can be useful in the treatment of conditions such as migraine, eczema, asthma, insomnia, low energy levels and stress, as well as being a relaxing treatment that promotes good health and vitality.

How many treatments will I need?
This therapeutic treatment works best when experienced as a course of six to eight treatments, but can also be enjoyed as a "one-off" treatment. Reflexology promotes a sense of deep relaxation. Advice is also given for self-help pressure-point massage.
